Description
HERD SIRE NEXT YEAR. Moore, the horse, was born on July 1, 2023. Yugos Black Star, a reg Paint Broodstock mare, is his dam. Because his sire, Diggs, was a homozygous KRT sire from the Elmer Johnson tradition, this colt has plenty of curl cover to become a herd sire. And his black and white tobiano color is distinct and striking, about half black and half white. Moore’s dam is also broke and pasture exposed for a 2004 foal. Mares like this are seldom offered for sale. But, I am retiring and selling my lifelong collection of horses and horse related items, including saddles, tack, buggies, memorabilia, Dakota Memory (a Western horse/romance novel I wrote) and miscellaneous items too numerous to mention. Call for more information: 651-212-3410 and ask for Jerry.
Moore’s name is derived from a Texas legislator who served during the Reconstruction era. And his saddle is shown in picture number six. The R. J. Moore saddle is one of the saddles in the Halvorson Farms collection and can be sold with this wonderful colt. This COLLECTOR SADDLE is a rarity, built for the Texas Legislator described below.
Full Name: Robert James Moore

He first served as a county commissioner, and was then elected to the 18th Legislature. He took office in 1883, representing the 71st District, in Washington County, Texas. He was re-elected twice. During the 1886 election cycle, Moore was also endorsed by the People’s Party.
