Description
2010 Curly Palomino Mare for Sale, ABC registered, 15H stick measured, 1200 pounds, full mane and tail. She is very big bodied, bred with the taller and heavier rider in mind. She has had 6 months of professional training since I re-purchased her in 2021 – 3 months English, 3 months Western.
Maddie has been used for trail and ring work (on the flat only.) She has cantered on the trail but hasn’t been schooled in the ring at the canter. She can be ridden by a confident rider on the trail alone but very much prefers going out in groups. She will lead the group or follow. She is bred and built to do a bit of everything. More whoa than go, not suitable for a raw beginner (no horse truly is) but she would be good for an advanced beginner. Maddie is not gaited but has an extremely smooth trot.
Maddie is up to date on vaccinations and deworming. She is currently barefoot and is trimmed in 4 to 5 week intervals; always quiet and gentle for the farrier. She has good, healthy hooves but she may need boots or shoes on the fronts if ridden consistently on hard terrain. Maddie lives lives outdoors in a mixed herd and is provided quality free choice hay, supplemental vitamins, with additional grain offered only when in regular work. She is mid- to low in the pecking order and gets along with everyone. She respects electric fences and has perfect gate manners. Maddie has no health issues but she does gain weight easily so her new owner must be vigilant of her body condition and adjust feed/exercise accordingly.
Maddie is very human oriented and adores attention. She is easy to catch in the field and leads away from her friends without a fuss. She loads and trailers with no issues (stock trailers and horse trailers alike). She has good manners in the barn; stands to be groomed and saddled. She stands still for mounting and does not walk off until asked to do so. She retains her previous lessons very well and is quick to learn new things.
Maddie has never been bred but ICHO Panel from Etalon DX has been completed and she is negative for all known diseases; a copy of the report will be provided for serious inquiries. She carries a single copy of the KRT25 gene.
Maddie is only offered for sale due to a pending change in career and resultant travel demands. She is now back in regular work and has not skipped a beat.
I have lots of photos to share. New video will be produced once her spring shed is complete.
