Description
Buddy’s vet appointment is Tuesday. I increased his price because he seems to be pretty nice. His head is huge but he will grow into it. He is HUGE, but is laid back and halter broke. His feet appear to be trimmed, but I don’t know about that yet. More information after the vet appointment.
Buddy might very well be a double recessive Percheron, possibly sold at auction by a purebred breeder who did not plan on a curly, and then passed at auction by people who did not know what curlies are. Some say these double recessive curlies are prone to health issues but I’m not asking a fortune for him anyway- AND, I am not sure where the evidence is for that. I did ask the curly registrar and she said there are no known health risks associated with recessive gene for curly coat.
DNA tests will reveal something if he shows up with no testable curly gene. If he has no testable curly gene, he is very likely a purebred Percheron. I was told by a Percheron breeder there have been two purebred curly Percherons registered with the Percheron registry, though there may have been others to exist.
There is no information available about this horse’s sire and dam
I can also get quotes for hauling him from quarantine in Kansas to a city, state.
I cannot guarantee that he will be hypoallergenic. You would have to check this. I just don’t know if he would be.
I am looking for highest offer at this point and I would ask the buyer to pay the quarantine and vet cost.
